Yet another Chocolate Cake…Completing 5 years of Wedded Bliss

So, we completed 5 years of wedded bliss last week. My marriage was arranged by my parents and we got married 3 months after our engagement. And since he was working abroad, we had no opportunity to meet before the wedding. Since he was from Kerala and I was from TamilNadu, the language and the cuisine were  very new to me.  So this 5 years has been an incredibly adventurous journey of discovering each others’ likes , dislikes and also each others’ level of patience and I loved every moment of it. And I still love and I will continue to love this journey of togetherness. Happy Anniversary, Sri. Here’s to our years of togetherness, happiness along with our Big Lion , Niranjan.

Whats a celebration without a chocolate cake? So I made this sourcream chocolate cake filled with chocolate buttercream and chocolate ganache. This is a choco – lovers’ dream come true.

Chocolate Cake:

1 and  2/3 cups All Purpose Flour

1 1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup oil

2 teaspoons vanilla essence

1/2 cup club soda

1. Pre heat oven to 180 C.  Lightly butter two 8 inch round pans

2. In a big bowl , add all the ingredients and beat until completely combined.

3. Pour into prepared pans and bake for 30 minutes.

Refer here for the chocolate buttercream filling  and  here for the Chocolate ganache –

This is how the final cake looked like after a minimal decoration with colourful mini – sugar balls decoration

And here’s wishing myself and my husband many more years of togetherness
